Forecast Discussion

I previously wrote a forecast this summer about the most boring weather I’ve seen since being with WxOrNotBG. However, I think this one takes the cake. This is simply boring, but to a somewhat amazing level. I mean look at the forecast summary for Tuesday and Wednesday, they’re almost identical!

The show must go on though. So what’s making the weather so boring? A shortwave trough will continue to move to the east of the region during the day, with ridging moving in behind it. The ridge just kind of sits there for the next several days.

Surface high pressure also just kind of sits across the region. This blocks any type of flow into the region, leading to a pretty boring weather pattern to be honest. However, boring weather often translates to fair weather. If only we could keep those dang temperatures down!

Extended Outlook

Our next shot of rainfall looks to come all the way in early next week. According to some long range models, a weak cold front will likely move through the region next Monday, leading to potentially widespread showers across the region. However, boring weather will remain in place until then. Oh well.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great day!
