Bowling Green Weather Is About to Be Awesome

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Forecast

Yesterday’s Weather

Yesterday was another day in the line of cloudiness and rainfall throughout most of the day. It was just not so great outside, but the temperatures were pretty amazing, too. Highs were only in the lower 80s across the region, and honestly, I would take the clouds with the cool temperatures.

Discussion

First of all, good luck to the Bowling Green East Little League Team as they play their first game today in the Little League World Series!

They play at 7 PM this evening against San Antonio, Texas. Lets go BG East!

The weather today looks crummy. Again. Once you look out the window, you’ll see why.

The kids will likely need a poncho, umbrella or rain coat at the bus stop today, as light rainfall should be here during that timeframe. The plume of vorticity that I mentioned yesterday morning is still present, but looks to slide just to our south this afternoon and evening (finally).

Even so, with its presence around the region, we’re likely to see renewed isolated to scattered storm activity this afternoon under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. Highs should end up in the lower 80s.

Overnight, look for an isolated storm to remain, with lows in the lower 70s.

Saturday is the day! This is the day that we have all been waiting for across the region since…forever ago.

The light is there at the end of the tunnel. We just have to get through tomorrow to get there. A strong shortwave trough is still forecast to propagate through the northern plains this afternoon and into tomorrow, deepening as it moves east-southeastward. This will force a strong surface low in the central Plains, and will force it to propagate northeastward.

As this does so, anticipate a fairly strong cold front to approach the region by Saturday evening. I will admit, I am fairly bullish on temperatures, but with southwesterly flow for several hours looking likely on Saturday, I am confident in that. Highs will likely jump into the mid 80s.

Scattered thunderstorms will likely form along the cold front as it propagates towards us, and these storms have a decent chance at being fairly stout. If any go severe, the likely threats will be heavy rainfall, lightning and strong wind gusts.

Overnight Saturday night, look for skies to clear, with lows in the upper 60s. Then we get to the light at the end of the tunnel. Thats right, we get there.

GIFs for celebration! Sunday looks so awesome. Not the kinda awesome you are sold at “As Seen On TV” stores, but way better. The airmass that looks to move into the region on Sunday looks cooler and drier than the one that we are seeing now. As a result, the outdoors look like a must on Sunday!

Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s, with dewpoints only in the upper 50s and lower 60s. How awesome is that. Plus, it looks to be mostly sunny. Overnight, look for skies to be clear, with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Extended Outlook

Well, the extended outlook is shaping up to be pretty nice. After the trough moves out in the Monday/Tuesday timeframe, we’ll likely see warming. Even so, this pattern of troughs doesn’t look to go anywhere in the longer term period.
