Discussion

Hey! Weekly GIF forecast! Get excited!! Over the next few days, we will begin to see a pattern shift towards a much cooler pattern. However, today and tomorrow? Not so much.

We’ll be under the influence of a stronger ridge moving that is propagating westward as troughing begins to become established across the eastern US. Today, that ridge will exert its will on us. We’ll see partly cloudy skies, and highs in the lower 90s.

That won’t feel very good, but it does make for a good day at the lake or the pool. Overnight, look for partly cloud skies, with lows in the 60s.

During your day tomorrow, we end up on the western side of the surface high pressure, returning south to southwesterly flow. While weak, this will warm us up quite a bit.

Highs should end up in the mid 90s, with isolated storms by the evening.

Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies and isolated storms, with lows in the mid 70s. Monday is really the turning point for the pattern. A trough begins to move into the eastern US, and settle across the region. We may see some early showers/storms, but storms should be more isolated by the afternoon. Highs will be cooling off into the upper 80s, and that is really exciting.

Overall, a great few days, with nothing wild occurring across the region.

Extended Outlook

The Climate Prediction Center issues their 6-10 day forecast for the region calling for below average temps, and looking at the long term data, this looks realistic. Troughing should become dominant over the next week, leading to much nicer conditions heading into the 4th of July holiday.
