Bowling Green Weather is Looking Mighty Fine!

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Yesterday was ridiculously nice. We haven’t had a nice day like that in….I can’t really remember. Humidity wasn’t too high, and temperatures weren’t too bad either! My colleague Jacob Wilkins absolutely nailed the forecast yesterday, as skies were sunny and temps were warm.

Discussion

*30 for 30 voice* What if I told you that the atmosphere became incredibly boring one week at the beginning of June? What if I told you that happened to be the atmosphere directly effecting us?

What if I were to tell you that? I am telling you that. This week is going to be ridiculously boring weatherwise. So boring, in fact, that I could do this blog with GIFs only.

Today, the convergent portion of a shortwave trough will be moving southeastward over our area, forcing our region to be under the influence of a surface high pressure system. This will create fairly incredible weather across the region, even better than yesterday’s!

Look for highs to end up in the mid and upper 70s, with very little in the way of humidity, as this airmass will drier and cooler.

Overnight, temps will fall into the mid 50s, which I know sounds bizarre considering it is June. Looking towards your day tomorrow, the weather looks fairly similar to today.

I think we should all get on board with that, and get incredibly excited about it. Days like today and tomorrow don’t come around often, especially in June. Our atmosphere will still be under the influence of a trough, which will keep highs only in the mid 70s.

Overnight, temps should fall into the mid 50s again. Thursday looks nice again. Again! I can’t believe this. 4 days in a row of amazing weather. I can’t get over how awesome this is. The only difference is that a ridge will begin to get established across the region, raising temperatures into the mid 80s.

Overnight, the ridge will keep temps elevated in the mid 60s for lows.

Long-term discussion

Like I was mentioning before, a strong ridge is forecast to move into the region. While this will likely bring with it sunshine, the atmosphere will have a much greater summer-like feel to it.

While it is irrational to forecast exact numbers this far out, it is likely that temps will end up in the 90s across the region, with higher dewpoints as well. You can expect isolated pop up storms to form in the afternoon as well. After a few days of wonder, we get back to reality and back to what summer actually feels like.
