Rain & Cooler Weather for BG

Real Time Bowling Green Radar:

Today 2/24 – Cloudy & Rainy – High 56/Tonight – Cloudy; scat’d showers with possible snow flurries – Low 34

Surface analysis valid 6am Wednesday (Pivotal Weather)

Good Morning, Bowling Green! The grossness will continue today as the surface low pressure system continues to move eastward. Our highest temperatures will occur in the morning hours and will drop gradually for the rest of the day. We will see rain showers, some heavy at times, throughout the day in association with this system.

Simulated radar valid 3pm Wednesday (Pivotal Weather)

Between the rain from last night and today, rain totals could be anywhere between 1.5-2 inches by the time this system moves out.

NAM Quantitative Precip Forecast valid 6pm Tuesday – 6pm Wednesday (Pivotal Weather)

The upper levels of the atmosphere will be cold enough for snow by early afternoon, however we’ll be watching the surface freezing line creep southward all day. It is possible that we may see a transition to light snow flurries overnight if there is precipitation left and temperatures get near enough to freezing. Don’t expect much, if any, accumulation.

Thursday 2/25 – Scat’d showers with possible snow flurries – High 38/ Thursday Night – Cloudy – Low 26

Scattered rain showers and snow flurries are possible Thursday morning due to remnants from the low pressure system which should be making its way into New England by then. An upper-level trough will allow northerly winds to filter in much cooler air into the region giving us highs in the upper 30s.

NAM 300mb heights and winds valid 6am Thursday (Pivotal Weather)

High pressure in the Midwest will start to clear out some of our clouds Thursday night and temperatures will be on the rise for Friday and the rest of the weekend.

Friday 2/26 – Partly sunny – High 42/Friday Night – Partly cloudy – Low 30

As always, when we have an upper-level trough we can expect a ridge to follow soon after. Temperatures will start warming up Friday as a ridge progresses eastward and winds become more westerly.

Surface analysis valid 9am Friday (Pivotal Weather)

Add in some surface high pressure to our south and we might even get to see some sunshine Friday. Saturday and Sunday look to be even better with temperatures making it into the 60s under sunny skies. I can’t wait!
