Today 2/8 – Mostly Cloudy; Scattered Rain/Snow Shower – High 40° / Tonight – Isolated Snow Showers – Low 25°
Mostly cloudy skies are in store for today as an upper level trough brings a weather disturbance to the region. This weather disturbance will also bring cold temperatures with it as well. Divergence aloft is leading to widely scattered showers this morning. This will gradually transition to a mix of snow and rain showers during the afternoon. Highs will be around 40° this morning, but will drop during the afternoon hours. The HRRR model below depicts scattered showers and snow showers in the region by 11 AM.
Tonight there should be a transition to all snow showers. These will become a bit more isolated in nature. Lows will be around 25°.
Tuesday 2/9 – Isolated Snow Showers – High 27° / Tues Night – Isolated Snow Showers – Low 17°
That disturbance dips well to the south of the region on Tuesday. However, an upper level low will be parked just to the north of the region. This will allow for the lifting of occasional snow showers throughout the day on Tuesday. Highs will be around 27°.
On Tuesday night, the snow showers will begin diminishing from the area. Lows will be around 17°. Generally, less than 1″ of snow is expected across the region.
Wednesday 2/10 – Partly Cloudy; Cold – High 22° / Wed Night – Mostly Clear – Low 13°
The snow should come to an end on Wednesday as dry air from the north begins to filter into the region. Morning flurries should give way to partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. However, the sun won’t provide much warmth as highs are only expected to be in the low 20s. Bundle up out there!
Wednesday night will bring mostly clear skies with a low in the low teens.
