Winter Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Sunday, 1/10 – Chance for Flurries – High 25˚ / Tonight – Mostly Clear & COLD – Low 15˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! After what has been a mild start to the season, winter-babies will finally be able to rejoice with this forecast! Snow, and cold temps, and wind chills… Oh my!

Winter has already graced us with its presence earlier today – as rain turned to snow following a cold front passage overnight. Accumulations may be slim, but take extra precaution today when traveling, as roads may be slick in spots.

As of this posting, however, Bowling Green has really only seen a dusting of snow; Warren County was originally included in a Winter Weather Advisory that has now been cancelled for the area. The majority of the snow accumulations remained to our north, as Louisville (my area) received 1-2″ of snow.

Additional snow flurries are possible throughout the day, but any accumulation we have received so far will be the bulk of it as the system moves northeast. Once the snow is out of the area, high pressure will begin pushing back in – allowing for clearing skies, and eventually some calmer winds (it’s going to be breezy out there this morning – so wrap up!).

Temperatures hit their max first thing this morning before colder air continues to filter in following the cold front passage. Temperatures tonight will be even chillier, around 15°! BRRRRRR

Monday, 1/11 – Mostly Sunny – High 35˚ / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 29˚

Winter continues on Monday with temperatures not making it out of the 30s. Skies will be mostly sunny, but the morning commute will be a VERY COLD one, so be sure to dress warm and have your kids bundle up before heading out to the bus stop.

Temperatures – starting in the teens during the morning hours – will top out in the mid-30s for Bowling Green. Lows will remain in the upper-20s overnight, but winds will really start to pick up ahead of the next frontal system. Cloud coverage will increase as well.

Tuesday, 1/12 – Sct’d Rain/Snow Chance –38˚ / Tuesday Night – Becoming Clear & COLD – Low 14˚

On Tuesday, our next shot at snow comes into play. A low pressure system will bring the chance for precipitation on Tuesday – first as snow, then rain, and then back to snow again as our temperatures fluctuate throughout the day. Some light accumulation may be possible with this system, but the brevity of it will prevent us from picking up too much from its passage.

As of right now, the models show much of it remaining to our north, but that will be something to monitor in the upcoming days – therefore just a chance of seeing snow currently exists for our area. Temperatures will reach the upper-30s around noon before dropping behind yet another cold front. Winds will be strong with its passage.

Lows Tuesday night will drop into the teens… Makes me shiver even thinking about it.
