Thursday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 11/19 – Mostly Sunny – High 59˚ / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 35˚

Good morning Bowling Green! Today’s forecast post will be quite tame in comparison to what we’ve experienced the past few days. Yesterday, 1.75 inches of rain and a peak wind gust of 42 mph were recorded at the Bowling Green airport, according to the National Weather Service. After a wet and dreary day, however, the sky under the cloud deck cleared right on time for a beautiful sunset!

Today, we will see a cold front move through by the afternoon with winds shifting to the northwest. This will allow cooler air to infiltrate into our region as we can expect cooler temperatures for the rest of the forecast period.

Highs today? Temperatures will hit right around the normal high of 58˚ before dropping into the mid-30s overnight. Expect mostly clear skies throughout the day and into the overnight hours.

Friday, 11/20 – Mostly Sunny – High 55˚ / Friday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 36˚

Another beautiful day is on tap for the end of the workweek due to building high pressure at the surface. The lagging infiltration of cold air behind the cold front will have had time to make its way into the region, dropping our high temperature to a few degrees below normal.

Mostly sunny skies will be present throughout the day, before high pressure at the surface is pushed eastward due to an incoming low pressure system. This will cause some clouds to build Friday night with lows in the mid to upper-30s.

Saturday, 11/21 – Chance for Showers – High 52˚ / Saturday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 25˚

A system to our west will bring the chance for some light rain showers come Saturday, with drastically cooler temperatures expected after it passes through our area. This system will be much, much weaker than what we experienced yesterday with just a chance for showers in the afternoon and early evening.

Partly sunny skies and a high temperature in the low 50s can be expected before the rain heads our way. Temperatures overnight will drop into the mid-20s — that’s right I said mid-20s — with clouds beginning to clear overnight. So if you have any plans Saturday night, be sure to dress warm!

There is talk that we MAY see our first snowflakes this weekend if the atmosphere remains saturated enough and cools down quick enough; but I’ll let the next writer make or bust that forecast.

All I know for sure is that temperatures Sunday will be COLD – we’re talking HIGHS right around 40˚. More details on your Sunday forecast and what you can expect for the beginning of your workweek will follow in upcoming blog posts. Thanks for the read!
