Wednesday Morning Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 11/4 – Partly Sunny – High 75˚ / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 59˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! Temperatures yesterday were definitely warmer than usual with highs in the mid to upper-70s! November may be going through an identity crisis, but I don’t think many people seem to mind.

These warmer than average temperatures will continue to stick around for the next few days due to ridging in the upper atmosphere and southerly flow at the surface. We’re looking at highs in the 70s through Friday with dew points breaking 60°, indicating a more moist atmosphere and introducing cloudy skies.

Today will be warm but partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a high temperature around 75°. Temperatures overnight will only drop into the upper 50s, making for a very mild fall night for Bowling Green.

Thursday, 11/5 – Mostly Cloudy – High 76˚ / Thursday Night – Sct’d Rain Chances – Low 65˚

Thursday will bring much of the same weather to Bowling Green as Wednesday did – mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-70s with winds from the south. Beginning late Thursday night, however, rain chances will start to come back into the picture.

A dip (trough) in the upper atmosphere will characterize our weather for the second part of the week with an accompanying low pressure system tracking eastward from the Rocky Mountains. This cold front will drape down from Canada to Mexico, bringing rain and cooler temperatures along with it.

Temperatures Thursday will jump back into the mid-70s under mostly cloudy skies. Showers and storms will affect the western regions of the state late Thursday night, moving eastward for early Friday morning.

We are under a marginal risk for severe weather late Thursday/early Friday with damaging winds being the main threat. We will continue to keep you updated on this system over the next few days.

Lows Thursday night will remain quite warm – around 65° – ahead of the cold front passage.

Friday 11/6 – Showers and Storms – High 74˚ / Friday Night – Rain Chances Ending – Low 47˚

Friday will bring our main source of rain for the week. Models are showing this line of showers and storms weakening as it continues into our region with the heaviest part moving through Friday morning before noon. Hopefully this remains the case, as the WKU Homecoming Parade takes place Friday afternoon from 4:30 – 6 PM. We all know tissue paper and water do not mix.

The rain chances do die down during the afternoon and evening, but a few spotty showers are not out of the question for the rest of Friday. Temperatures will make it into the low to mid-70s for our high, with lows dropping into the upper 40s overnight.
