Weekend Rain Chances

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 10/2 – Cloudy with scat’d showers – High 62/Tonight – Cloudy; scat’d showers – Low 51

Good morning, Bowling Green! If I could sum up this week in one word, it would have to be RAIN. According to the Kentucky Mesonet, BG received almost 4 inches of rain just this week! Fortunately we won’t be seeing too much more rain contributing to that total this weekend, however flooding is a major concern in the eastern states due to Hurricane Joaquin, which is now a Category 4.

If you were itching for fall weather to arrive, you’ll love today with high temperatures only warming up into the low 60s. Skies will remain mostly cloudy today with chances for on and off scattered showers, similar to what we have been seeing. It looks like the highest chances for showers will be in the afternoon hours.

Rain chances will taper off overnight and lows will be around 50 degrees. Expect a rinse and repeat forecast for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday 10/3 – Cloudy; scat’d showers – High 60/Saturday Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 54

Saturday will be very similar to today with cloudy skies and hit-and-miss scattered showers throughout the day. Due to the predicted positioning of Joaquin Saturday, ample moisture will be transported into the eastern states, as well as Kentucky, keeping skies cloudy and rain chances high.

Saturday night should be mostly dry with lows in the mid 50s. If Joaquin makes landfall Sunday morning as some models are predicting, we could have rain chances increase throughout the day Sunday.

Sunday 10/4 – Partly sunny; chance of afternoon scat’d showers – High 72/Sunday Night – Partly cloudy – Low 58

Sunday will be a little warmer with high temperatures around 72 degrees and partly sunny skies. Sunday’s forecast is completely riding on the trajectory of Joaquin, which still remains uncertain. Models suggest different paths for the hurricane to take and one outcome will give us more rain while another will keep us dry and sunny for most of the day.

Once the system does move out, however, temperatures look to stay in the 70s with plenty of sunshine to go with it!
