Wednesday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 9/16 – Sunny & Nice – High 85˚ / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 55˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! What a great several days we have seen after a massive cool-down this past weekend. The pleasant weather will continue for the next few days, but temperatures will continue to gradually increase as we head into the weekend.

The current set-up of the atmosphere contains a ridge over the eastern part of the country and a trough over the western portion. High pressure at the surface will allow for mostly sunny skies and dry conditions to prevail today through Friday.

Highs today will reach the low to mid-80s, after a cool morning in the 50s. Humidity levels will remain low, with dewpoints in the 50s. All in all, we’re looking at another beautiful September day! If anything, this weather should make the passage of this week a bit more enjoyable.

Tonight, temperatures will drop back into the mid-50s under mostly clear skies.

Thursday, 9/17 – Mostly Sunny – High 86˚ / Thursday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 60˚

Thursday? Much of the same. This week we’ve seen a general trend of warming temperatures and dry, quiet weather. Temperatures will be cool enough this morning for a light jacket, but warm enough by lunch to soak up some rays.

In terms of the climate normals for this time of year, we’re seeing more of a temperature spread as highs are a few degrees greater than the average, and lows are a few degrees cooler. I don’t see anyone complaining, however, as anything is better than those 90° September days.

Temperatures Thursday will be right around what they are today, with the exception of a degree or two for the high. Expect another sunny, mid-80s kind of day thanks to high pressure. High pressure kind of rocks.

Lows on Thursday night will be a bit warmer than what we have seen the last several days. Temperatures will drop to around the 60° mark overnight under clear skies and calm winds.

Friday 9/18 – Mostly Sunny – High 88˚ / Friday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 65˚

This forecast will change up a little bit by Friday, as a low pressure system makes its way east towards our area. With the next chance for precipitation occurring this weekend, southerly winds will begin to pick up Friday, allowing for an increase in temperatures and dew points.

Clouds may increase a bit on Friday due to the incoming pressure system, but nothing too dramatic – mostly sunny skies will accompany a more summer-like day with highs in the upper-80s and dewpoints in the 60s.

We’ll see a return to the below-normal temperatures at the end of this weekend and the beginning of next week, after a cold front swings through the area Saturday.
