The Week Ahead

The minds of WxOrNotBG have been scheming over the past few weeks to give you some new content to feed your inner weather geek (because I know that all of you have it), but to also help you plan your week better/know what to expect beyond the 3 day forecast we usually give. We’ve been pretty excited about it all.

Last night, we delivered the week in review for 7/12-7/18 and tonight, you’ve got your week ahead! So, here goes nothin’!

Monday, 7/20: [Wake up: 76ºF. High: 92ºF] Overall, Monday looks fairly hot. As the past several days have been, you can expect muggy conditions, and car thermometers hitting the 90s. Expect a 100% chance of sweat by the time you reach your car after getting off of work.

Be aware of a scattered storm threat during the afternoon and evening hours as a weak cold front approaches an unstable atmosphere. Organized severe storms aren’t expected, buuuuuuut the SPC does have out northern areas in a slight risk. The main threats would be damaging winds, lightning and heavy rainfall.

Tuesday, 7/21: [Wake up: 74ºF. High: 88ºF] Still under the influence of a crazy summer heat pattern, temps will begin a relative cooling period on Tuesday, as a cold front begins to swing through the area. Showers and storms look to be a bit of a threat to begin the day, but this threat shouldn’t last the majority of the day.

Getting off work should be a bit more pleasant, and the evening may be good enough for a jog!

Wednesday, 7/22: [Wake up: 67ºF. High: 85ºF] All things considering, if you wanted to have a picnic, Wednesday is your go to day. Who doesn’t like Wednesday’s? They are awesome, anyways! Weather looks fantastic. Cooler, lower dewpoints. It’ll be super nice. Makes you just wanna dance. At least, it does me.

Thursday & Friday, 7/23 & 24: [Wake up: Lower 70s. High: 92-95ºF] Well, Wednesday was a treat and should be treated as such. Thursday and Friday look hot. Again. It just look straight up toasty. The ridge of doom will move eastward, and center itself over the eastern Midwest, putting us in the ring of heat again.
