The heat index, or “feels like” temperature, could be over 100˚, so please be cautious of the heat! I recommend drinking lots of water, resting when necessary, and wearing a hat and sunscreen!

A few isolated storms will be possible this afternoon.  Although the vast majority of us will stay dry, any storm that fires will intensify quickly.

For the evening, temperatures will be mild with lows in the mid-70’s under partly cloudy skies. A slight chance of showers will show up, so keep an umbrella in the car just in case. Hopefully you won’t have to use it!

Friday– Sct’d Showers and Storms; Partly Sunny – High 87˚ / Friday Night – Showers and Storms; Cloudy – Low 69˚

Friday looks to be pretty wet as scattered showers and storms develop throughout the day. A few storms could meet severe criteria. The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center includes a portion of south central Kentucky in a Slight Risk for severe weather Friday:

Definitely bring an umbrella or a rain jacket on your way out in the morning because rain chances continue to increase as the day progresses. However, all of this rain is making the temperatures remain in the 80’s! Highs will be in the upper 80’s under partly sunny skies which is such a nice change from Thursday!

For the evening, temperatures will be cooler with lows in the upper 60’s under cloudy skies. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase throughout the night and into the overnight hours, so make sure to keep an umbrella nearby if heading out for the evening. You definitely don’t want to be caught in a downpour without one!

Saturday – Showers and Storms; Cloudy – High 78˚ / Saturday Night – Showers and Storms; Mostly Cloudy – Low 63˚

Saturday is basically the same forecast as Friday, except temperatures are even lower! Yes, I know, you can pick your jaw up off the floor because what you’re reading is true. Daytime highs will be in the upper 70’s and nighttime lows will be in the lower 60’s!

Showers and thunderstorms will be hanging around all day, though, so bring an umbrella if you venture out. Rain chances decrease in the evening and into the overnight hours and are completely gone by Sunday. The start to your weekend is going to be wet and rainy, but the temperatures are much lower, which is such a relief from this HOT weather!

Well, that’s it for this forecast. Have a great rest of the work week and remember to stay hydrated in the heat and safe during the storms!
