Real-Time BG Radar:
Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, with an isolated shower or two. High of 71ºF. Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy. Low of 60ºF.
Well, the past two days haven’t exactly panned out the way I forecasted a few days ago. I won’t go into that deeply, but my forecast wasn’t very pretty.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some! Today looks pretty crummy, much like the past two days. We are gonna be under the influence of a mid-level low pressure system that will be just kinda, ya know, hanging out up there.
This will keep temps pretty far below average for this time of year, only topping out in the upper 60s and lower 70s (not complaining). Clouds will be hanging around the region as the mid levels are cooler, supporting cloud cover across the region.
The threat for an isolated shower will remain around through the evening. Look for skies to remain cloudy as we head into the overnight hours, and this will keep the temps warmer, only falling into the lower 60s.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with isolated showers towards evening. High of 73ºF. Wed. night: Becoming partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Low of 63ºF.
To be honest with you, this is a pretty tough forecast. Mid-level lows that gradually cut off are pretty tough to forecast, as they can kinda meander in one spot for many days (i.e.: this week). This leaves forecasters in a tight spot because these lows can move a bit east or west, and it throws the whole forecast.
Thus, a lot of things can change. However, I am confident that we should see mostly cloudy skies, with isolated showers increasing through the afternoon. This will hold temps down into the afternoon.
Look for highs to pop up into the low to mid 70s across the region, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them stay a bit cooler. As we head into the overnight hours, skies should become partly cloudy, but temps should stay a bit elevated, only falling to 63ºF.
Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy, with isolated showers. High of 77ºF. Thur. night: Becoming mostly clear. Low of 62ºF.
This is probably the toughest day for me to forecast for this period. I am very reluctant to move highs as high as the models have them forecasted, as some models have temps rising into the mid 80s. I don’t foresee that, especially sitting under the influence of a cut off low.
Look for scattered showers to impact some of us during the evening, with highs rising into the mid and upper 70s. I really think that temps could be cooler, though. Overnight, skies should clear more, with lows falling into the lower 60s. This broken record forecast got me like…
