Today – Isolated Afternoon Showers – High 67° / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 42°
An upper level closed low will bring strong northerly winds aloft to the region. Although these shouldn’t mix down to the surface, conditions may seem a few degrees colder than yesterday as we will also have weak northerly winds. Highs will top out around 67°.
A mid level jet streak will form an move across the region. This will advect very cold upper level temperatures into the region from the north. Strong positive vorticity advection will cause weak vertical ascent to take place.
In English, there will be enough forcing to lift some isolated showers across the region. Because the mid level of the atmosphere will be so cold, some isolated small hail and cold air funnels may also be possible across the region.
We should clear completely out this evening. Lows will be around 42°.

Friday is looking like a great day to enjoy the weather outdoors. High pressure will center over the middle of the country leaving us with partly cloudy skies and light winds. Highs will be just a couple degrees below 70°.
Friday night will bring partly cloudy skies to the region with a low around 50°.
Saturday 5/2 – Partly Cloudy; Warm – High 76° / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 52°
Saturday will be an even nicer day across the region! High pressure will strengthen and move a little to our south. This will place us in a light southwesterly flow at the surface. Partly cloudy skies will form in response to this with warm temperatures. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Saturday night will bring us partly cloudy skies across south-central Kentucky with a low temperature around 52°.
