Friday Afternoon Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

This Afternoon – Mostly Cloudy – High 55˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 38˚

Good afternoon, if you have been sick of the rainy weather southern Kentucky has seen late this week, there is good news. The precipitation that occurred overnight and early this morning has ended, with dry conditions expected to last through the weekend.

As you can see on the radar image above, rain showers have moved off to the southeast. Unfortunately, an extensive layer of low-level clouds is currently in place over most of the Ohio Valley. These clouds will stick around through the rest of the afternoon although we can hope to see some clearing by this evening as surface high pressure settles over the region.

Temperatures will only reach the middle 50s this afternoon thanks to the extensive cloud cover. As skies clear overnight, expect lows to dip into the upper 30s.

Saturday 3/21 – Partly Cloudy – High 67˚ / Saturday Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 43˚

Be sure to spend some time outside this weekend, because beginning tomorrow the weather will take a turn for the better. The jet stream is not expected to be very active tomorrow, with a mostly zonal flow in place. Combine a lethargic jet stream with surface high pressure and we will see a beautiful day tomorrow.

Temperatures will reach the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies tomorrow afternoon. Expect an increase in clouds tomorrow night due to a disturbance to our south with low temperatures reaching the lower to middle 40s.

Sunday 3/22 – Partly Sunny – High 66˚ / Sunday Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 40˚

Sunday’s weather will be nearly a carbon copy to tomorrow as another beautiful day can be expected. High temperatures will reach the 60s once again under partly cloudy skies. Clouds will increase again overnight as low temperatures drop to around 40˚. Current model guidance indicates that this quiet weather pattern may hold into early next week as well.
