Damp End To The Work Week

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 3/13 – Rain Likely – High 62˚ / Tonight – Rain Likely – Low 52˚

*Flood Watch thru 12pm Saturday*

A closed low to our southwest will soon open up and begin to cut a path northeast across the lower Ohio Valley.  This will amp up southerly flow across the viewing area, which will greatly increase the amount of moisture in our atmosphere.

The increase in moisture will result in periods of moderate to heavy rain throughout our Friday.  Rain showers have already engulfed much of the area, which will only continue to beleaguer our weather conditions.  With ample rain expected, a Flood Watch will remain in effect through all of today into Saturday.  Whatever you do…

…don’t forget that umbrella.

The NAM model below loops every 3 hours from 7am – 7pm today.  It will give you a better idea of how this system will behave:

NAM Model Valid 7am thru 7pm Friday – WeatherBELL

As we get into tonight, another swath of moderate precipitation will work over the area, keeping the wet stuff in the forecast.

Sat 3/14 – Scat’d Showers – High 66˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 42˚

A surface low pressure system associated with this system will track over the area on Saturday, keeping light, hit & miss showers in the forecast.

Although the start of the weekend looks to have a damp feel, southerly flow will escort highs to the upper 60s.

We’ll see isolated showers during the afternoon taper off to partly cloudy skies by Saturday evening, with continued clearing expected into the early morning hours of our Sunday.  Total rainfall amounts when it’s all said and done will range between 1-3″.

Sun 3/15 – Mostly Sunny – High 65˚ / Sun Night – Clear – Low 37˚

High pressure attempting to build into the region will provide immaculate weather conditions as we close out the weekend.  Highs in the mid 60s.  Sunny skies.

We’ll keep plenty of sunshine in the forecast to start out the following work week as well, as high pressure maintains control over south central Kentucky.

That’s all I’ve got for the morning update.  As always, stay in touch with @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWx for the latest real-time weather information.  Stay dry, and have a great Friday!
