Bowling Green Weekend Forecast

Today – AM Flurries; Mostly Cloudy – High 40˚ / Tonight – Chance of Rain – Low 35˚

Isolated flurries across the region may drop a light dusting in a few areas this morning, but most people won’t see a thing. Clouds will thin through midday, however, more clouds are forecast to filter in by late afternoon.

Here is a look at the simulated radar reflectivity from the HRRR model. It shows light precipitation across parts of the area at 8am:

Sunday – Rain Showers – High 48˚ / Sun Night– Rain – Low 34˚

Rain chances will increase as we progress throughout our Sunday. While temperatures will be much warmer thanks to southerly flow, this same flow will also moisten up our atmosphere.

This will be in response to a low pressure system tracking to our northeast, which will drag its associated cold front east across the area.  This forcing mechanism will coincide with the available moisture to create likely rain chances.

Precipitation will continue to become more widespread as we progress through Sunday night…

Monday – Rain – High 42˚ / Mon Night – Rain – Low 32˚

Rain will be on it’s way out Monday morning, giving us a lull in precipitaiton between mid morning and late afternoon. Enjoy this dry time, as more rain looks to infiltrate the area Monday night. Some heavy downpours will be possible with this system. As much as 2 inches of rain is possible through the early part of the work week.

Another system looks to transverse across the area through midweek, bringing interesting shenanigans along with it.  First off, temperatures will range between 55 and 65˚ both Tuesday and Wednesday, accompanying widespread rain and thunderstorms. Then, just like that, another surge of Arctic air works in, bringing wintry weather back into the forecast Wednesday night and Thursday.

There’s still plenty of time for this disturbance to evolve, so we won’t be diving into much detail at this time.  Just make a mental note of what’s to come this week.  A very active pattern, with just about every kind of weather on the table.
