Historically Cold Bowling Green Weather

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

**A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for all of south central Kentucky until 6pm**

Today 2/19 – Mostly Sunny; Very COLD – High 9° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy; Very COLD – Low -9°

Be prepared for very cold conditions today. Most roads are fairly decent, thus the reason many schools are out is because of the bitter cold conditions across the region. Early morning temperatures bottomed out at -7° in Bowling Green, with wind chills as low as -15 to -20°. So, dress very warm if you have to get out. You may have trouble starting your car as well, so allow extra time in the morning commute.

We’ll see mostly sunny skies through much of the day. However, this will do little to help our temperatures. Highs will struggle to reach double digits, and likely won’t. Bowling Green will likely reach a high around 9°. Bundle up as wind chills will have a hard time getting above 0°.

Tonight will bring an increase in clouds, but once more, a very cold night. A low of -9° can be expected.

Friday 2/20 – PM Snow Showers – High 27˚ / Fri Night – Wintry Yuck – Low 32°↑

Friday will bring our next winter weather precipitation chances. Low pressure to the south of the region will overspread moisture across the area. Snow showers will develop during the afternoon hours on Friday. A few snow showers could be moderate to heavy in intensity, leading to reduced visibility. We’ll be much warmer than today as highs top out around 27°.

Friday evening and night will bring a wintry mess to the region as warmer air filters into the region. We’ll actually continue warming through the night, transitioning the snow to a mix. “Lows” will top out around 31°. In this case, the low is the expected temperature around 6 AM.

Saturday 2/21 – Rainy; Warmer – High 39° / Sat Night – Rainy – Low 51°↑

Saturday will bring warmer conditions to the region which should bring all the precipitation down as rain. Warmth will continue to overspread the region from southerly flow at the surface. Highs will top out just under 40°.

Although, temperatures will continue to increase through the evening a night, thus our low will likely remain higher than our high. Again, the low will simply be the temperature at 6 AM on Sunday. In this case the low will be 51°. A few claps of thunder may be possible as well.
