Nice Wednesday, Not Thursday

Tonight – Clear – Low 28˚

Skies will remain clear tonight.  Lows will dip to the upper 20s.

easy

That was easy.

Wed 2/11 – Partly Sunny – High 56˚ / Wed Night – Cloudy & Windy; Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 22˚

Our flow will shift southerly come hump day, which will combine with rays of sunshine to send afternoon highs to the mid 50s.  Be sure you get out and enjoy the unseasonably warm conditions.  We’ll experience drastic changes as we get into Wednesday evening.

A stout cold front will plow southeast across the region, carrying a sharp temperature gradient along with it.  The surface map below, valid for 6pm Wednesday, illustrates the front well to our southeast:

Temp values will quickly tumble to the lower 20s behind the front, coinciding with the given environment to spawn isolated snow showers late.  No accumulation is expected, however, we shouldn’t ignore the potential for a few slick spots.

Thu – Blustery; Iso’d Snow Showers – High 27˚ / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 10˚

Here’s your Thursday in a nutshell —> FRIGID.  Isolated snow chances will linger throughout the day, with afternoon highs struggling to get out of the mid 20s.  With a few slick spots possible, please exercise caution if you’re out & about.

You know the drill… don’t be “that” guy.

Want even better news?  Winds are going to howl at 15 to 25 mph out of the northwest, producing real-feel wind chill values in the single digits.  Oh what fun!

*Collective Reaction*

Skies will clear out on Thursday night as high pressure works into the area.  It will be a bitter end to the week, with high temperatures behind held to the lower 30s Friday & Saturday.

The latest models have hinted at the potential for a healthy round of snow next week.  We’d never mention any details this far in advance, but we wanted to let you know the cards are on the table.  If any of you superstitious snow lovers out there got any good ideas let me know.
