Good Saturday morning, Bowling Green! The roller coaster temperature ride is going uphill once again today, as a beautiful, warm day is in store.
Thanks to surface high pressure and warm air advection, temperatures look to reach into the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies. How about that for your Saturday? It will be a bit breezy, with winds from the southwest up to 15 mph. But with temperatures this great, be sure to get out and enjoy while it lasts!
As for tonight, temperatures will remain unseasonably warm in the low to mid-40s thanks to ongoing warm air advection. Clouds will be on the increase as the night progresses, ahead of an incoming system.
Sunday 2/8- Scattered Showers – High 58º / Sunday Night – Scattered Showers- Low 40º
With fairly strong surface winds from the southwest, temperatures will return to the upper 50s under mostly cloudy skies for Sunday. A low pressure system will be tracking eastward across the Great Lakes, with a cold front swinging through our area tomorrow night and into early Monday morning. Ahead of this front, precipitation will be moving in beginning late morning/early afternoon and continuing throughout the day Sunday. Showers will be light and scattered.
Because the cold front will be moving through Sunday night, temperatures will remain in the 50s until around midnight, after which the surface winds will turn and cold air will begin pouring into the area. In regards to Sunday night’s low, temperatures will fall to about 40° by 6 AM. Rain looks to be out by early morning Monday. Below is the Quantitative Precipitation Forecast between 6 AM Sunday morning through 6 AM Monday morning; Bowling Green is expected to receive less than 0.25″ of rain.
Monday 2/9 – Partly Sunny – High 43º / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 26º
Seasonable temperatures will be back on Monday to begin the workweek, thanks to the cold front that crushed our warm weather dreams… Clouds look to stick around for much of Monday, with temperatures reaching the low to mid-40s here in Bowling Green. Monday night will be much of the same, with conditions close to that of the climate normal for Bowling Green during this time of year. Temperatures will drop into the mid 20s under partly cloudy skies.
