Quieter Weather In Store

Real-time Bowling Green radar:

This afternoon: Gradual Clearing – High 35ºF / Tonight – Clear (Freezing Fog?) – Low of around 26ºF.

Wow. What a morning for the area, eh? This system was a bit of a sleeper system, but our writer Jacob Wilkins did an excellent job on the forecast this morning.

This was a real surprise to me, as I woke up this to an array of tweets talking about the road conditions across the region. Remember guys, slow down in the snow! No need to panic!

After this morning’s craziness, we are gonna have a nice return to normal weather this evening, with skies gradually clearing as we head into the evening hours. The temperatures should only get up into the mid 30s by the 6 o’clock hour.

As we head into the overnight hours, skies should be clear with lows falling into the mid 20’s across the region.  Combine this with very subtle winds and we’ve got a recipe for potential freezing fog.  Freezing fog can be a real danger on the roadways, so please exercise caution if you’re getting out early.

Friday – Partly cloudy & boring – High 45ºF / Fri night – Clear – low of 26ºF.

Well, after a day of excitement, it looks like we are back to our old weather ways: boring.

I feel like until today, we’ve had boring weather for all of eternity. It has been so boring as of late that Landon posted a forecast in all GIFs.

It doesn’t get more boring than that! Friday will follow suit, with maybe some early morning clouds, but sunny skies taking over with a high in the mid 40s. Look for skies to remain clear again Friday night with lows falling into the mid 20s.

Saturday – Mostly sunny – High of 55ºF Sat night – Increasing clouds – Low of 35ºF

Well, this is fun. I’m totally sure we will see more of the, “Wow KY weather is so crazy. It snowed Thursday and now it’s in the 50s!!?! Make up your mind!” posts across every social media platform imaginable.

Those are the worst. Don’t say that. Please. I’m begging the collective audience. Anyways, after that PSA is out of the way, I do think Saturday looks really nice. By the time evening gets here, we should be seeing clouds on the increase, however, temps look to rise to the mid 50s thanks t0 southwesterly flow during the afternoon.

On Saturday night, look for a slight chance of showers under southerly flow and thick clouds. This will keep temps from falling too far, only falling into the mid 30s.  Cooler air will work in on Sunday as lingering showers continue to threaten the region.
