Monday Afternoon Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green radar:

This Afternoon – Scat’d Drizzle – High 40º↓ / Tonight – Iso’d Freezing Drizzle; Cloudy – Low 26º

3pm 39º – 6pm 35º – 9pm 32˚ – 12am 30˚ – 3am 28˚ – 6am 26˚

The bulk of precipitation has shifted to our east, however, a lingering drizzle continues to beleaguer the region.  Much of the atmosphere’s moisture should be out of the region by this evening, but we’ll have to keep a close eye on things…

Northerly winds of 10-15 mph are causing temperatures to tumble.  Combine this with lingering drizzle this evening, and we could be looking at an impact to travel conditions.

Although chances are not likely, we can’t completely ignore the possibility for slick spots.  The 4km NAM temperature model below thinks we’ll tumble below freezing around 9pm tonight:

Aside from that, pavement on the road ways are already wet, which could lead to areas of black ice early Tuesday morning.  Please use caution if you’re traveling late tonight into the early morning hours of our Tuesday.

Tue 1/13 – Partly Cloudy – High 32˚ / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 21˚

High pressure will slide southeast from the Midwest, which will give us much cooler temperatures to deal with for the second day of the work week.  With plentiful cloud cover coinciding with northerly winds, afternoon highs will be suppressed to the lower 30s.

Conditions will stay quiet through Tue night, with lows tumbling to around 20˚

Wed 1/14 – Partly Sunny – High 36˚ / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 22˚

An area of high pressure will slide east across the Ohio Valley, keeping our cool conditions around through midweek.  With drier air filtering in from the north, I think we’ll see rays of sunshine before dusk arrives.

The rest of the week looks to be sunny and quiet.  Oh yeah, we’re expecting a warming trend as well…

Temp values in the mid 40s on Friday will rebound to near 50 both Saturday and Sunday.
