Good morning, we are currently off to a mild start across southern Kentucky this morning as low temperatures only dipped down to the lower 40s. We will see cloud cover hang around today as there is moisture in the lower levels of the atmosphere, but high pressure will keep us clear of any precipitation chances.
Temperatures will make a run at 50° this afternoon. By tonight, expect clouds to become partly cloudy with lows falling into the upper 30s.
Monday 12/15 – Partly Cloudy; Scattered PM Showers – High 55° / Mon Night – Sct’d Showers – Low 45°
The weather will become more interesting tomorrow as an area of surface low pressure will move from near Kansas City, MO to Chicago, IL throughout the day. A warm front associated with this area of low pressure will lift north across Kentucky during the afternoon. This will begin to increase our shower chances as winds turn to the south.
High temperatures will reach the middle 50s while we are in the warm sector of this low. Scattered will continue overning before a cold front pushes through the area before daybreak on Tuesday. Expect rainfall totals for tomorrow and tomorrow night to be around 0.25″.
Tuesday 12/16 – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Showers – High 50° / Tues Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 33°
Temperatures will cool off as the cold front pushes east of Kentucky on Tuesday and surface winds turn to the west. A few showers will be possible as some moisture wraps around an upper-level trough. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures struggling to reach 50º. Skies will become partly cloudy overnight as low temperatures flirt with the freezing mark.
It looks like our weather will be quiet throughout the rest of the work, although temperatures will be cooler.
