Most fathers and sons spend time fishing, hunting, playing sports, etc. to have fun with one another. Chris and Drake Conley do things a little different. Instead of doing the father and son activities that most people do, they spend their time together documenting extreme weather events across the country.

They also like to document some of the calmer aspects of nature. If you visit Mean Motion Media’s Facebook page, you’ll see there are a variety of pictures of birds, storms, and landscape photography. While their mission to spend time together may seem a bit unorthodox, they sure do make a great team together as they get amazing photographs and videos of some of the most impressive storms in the country.

It looks like they may be expanding their operation a bit this year. They’re going further to chase, and investing in new camera equipment for the next season. They’ve even invited me for a ride along sometime, which I will gladly take them up on!

The team is also a member of the Ohio Valley National Weather Association. I got the pleasure of meeting these great guys at the last meeting, which occurred at the Corvette Museum here in Bowling Green. The team has also recently announced a partnership with Severe Studios, where they live stream their chase footage in real time. This is essential to media outlets as well as the National Weather Service as they can act as eyes for the severe weather warning process.
