Snow Possible Sunday into Monday?

Our first decent shot at wintry weather will move into the area this weekend. A light round of rain/snow showers will swing through Kentucky Saturday night into Sunday morning. The 13 km GFS shows a light dusting just to our south.

Another system will move through late Sunday into Monday. The updated GFS model has the heaviest snowfall moving to the south with the highest amounts nearing 4 inches just to the east of Nashville.

The 13km GFS puts the heaviest steak of snowfall right over Bowling Green, showing a thin line of nearly 7 inches across the area.

However, 4 – 5 days out, especially with winter systems, the models can be all over the place. A system with this track generally has a hard time allowing the cold air to move far enough south to turn the moisture into any sizable snow. We will keep an eye on this system over the coming days just in case the potential for snow increases. Snow lovers, don’t get to excited yet.
