Hurricane Strength Wind Gusts in the Mediterranean

Some extreme weather has been hitting southern Europe this past week, as a strong storm spins in the Mediterranean. This storm has showcased hurricane characteristics, from the way it looks to the strong winds it possesses. On Friday, wind gusts peaked at 95 mph in Malta, which is an archipelago of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. While the storm was strong, it lacked moisture, so not much rainfall was received. This storm has been called a “medicane” by many as it possesses hurricane characteristics but is located in the Mediterranean.
