Despite the foggy start to the day, conditions have shaped up quite nicely across southern Kentucky. The cold front that brought rain showers to the region has finally cleared the area while skies have cleared west to east. In return, the ample amounts of sunshine have allowed temperatures to warm into the mid 60’s.

Surface high pressure will continue to track southeastward from our northwest tonight before settling right across the heart of the Commonwealth. Skies will remain clear while winds calm. Look for temperatures to really drop off as lows bottom out in the upper 30’s for Bowling Green weather.

Fri – Mostly Cloudy; Few Showers – High 56º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Stray Shower – Low 33º

Here comes a taste of winter with disturbance number 2. You read that right. Our spooky Halloween forecast is going to be a gloomy chiller as temperatures struggle to reach the mid 50’s for highs. Factor in strong northwesterly winds around 10-15 mph…..wind chill values will make things feel even colder. Not only will we have to deal with the chilling temperatures, we’ll also have the chance for a few showers too.

It seems that best chances for the wet stuff will arrive Friday afternoon for our area. The bad news, a few of those goblins out there might have to dodge a few rain drops while flying around for some candy. Otherwise, look for most of the showery activity to clear southern Kentucky by early evening as another cold shot of air rushes in!

Now, if this cold air works into the area faster with some lingering precipitation around, a few flakes could be possible. However, I think the best chance for seeing some of the white stuff will reside across central and eastern parts of the state. Don’t worry, no accumulation is expected. For us, just cold and windy conditions with lows dipping into the lower 30’s. Regardless, something we’ll keep an eye on!
