Tropical Storm Hanna; the eighth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season has formed right off the coast of Nicaragua. Hanna strengthened into a tropical storm around 9 A.M. CST. Tropical storm watches are in effect for Nicaragua and Honduras as the storm is expected to move onshore later today.
Tropical Storm Hanna currently has maximum sustained winds of 40mph and is moving WSW at 7mph. The tropical storm is expected to quickly weaken into a tropical depression as it makes landfall this afternoon, so Tropical Storm Hanna’s time as a named storm will be very brief.
