Subtropical Storm Fay

We don’t often hear the term subtropical storm, but today the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory for subtropical storm Fay in the Atlantic Ocean. A subtropical storm describes a storm system that is a hybrid between a mid-latitude cyclone and tropical low pressure system.

Subtropical Storm Fay is currently located 790 miles south of Bermuda and is moving NNW at 12 mph. The minimum surface pressure is 1000mb and the maximum sustained winds are 60mph. Check out the latest forecast track map from the NHC:
