Bowling Green Weather is Stormy Again

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 10/7 – Isolated Strong Thunderstorms – High 75° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 54°

Today we’ll see a similar set up across the region that yesterday brought. A warm front will lift through the region during the morning hours, bringing with it a chance of some thunderstorms. Some of the storms may be strong to severe with large hail and gusty winds being the main concern. The extent of this first round of thunderstorms will have a big impact on the afternoon round of thunderstorms.

If we can harness enough instability in the region, an additional round of thunderstorms will form across the region. Low level wind shear will be a bit better than yesterday, so if, and that’s a big “if”, thunderstorms can form in an unstable environment an isolated tornado will be possible. With that being said, large hail and damaging winds are still the main hazards with these storms.

Storms should begin to clear out of the region during the overnight hours. Under partly cloudy skies, you can expect a low of 54°.

Wednesday 10/8 – Partly Cloudy – High 76° / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 53°

We’ll get a brief break from the stormy weather on Wednesday. This will be because high pressure will build into the region behind the exiting cold front. Nicer conditions will be in store for Wednesday so be sure to make the most out of it. Partly cloudy skies with an afternoon high of 76° can be expected across Bowling Green.

Partly cloudy skies will return to the region on Wednesday night. A few models indicate some isolated thunderstorms may be possible. However, confidence is not high enough to include that in the forecast. Thus, partly cloudy skies can be expected with a low of 53°.

Thursday – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 76° / Thur Night – Scattered Thunderstorms – Low 58°

On Thursday it looks like low pressure will form to the rest of the region. This will lift a warm front through the region once more. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible as the warm front lifts through the region. These storms should remain below severe limits due to the majority of the instability being to the west of the region. Afternoon high will be around 76°. My thoughts exactly…

During the overnight hours, expect thunderstorms to continue across the region. A few of these storms may be strong as better instability will begin to advect into the region. The main hazards will be small hail and gusty winds. Lows will be around 58°.

That should wrap up this forecast post. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG for all the latest Bowling Green weather details. Have a safe day.
