Upper level flow will increase in response to a developing upper level trough in the mid section of the nation. This will stream warm, moist air from the south and southwest into the region. Due to the influx of moisture and heat into the region, we’ll expect partly cloudy skies to develop in the afternoon and evening hours. A high of 88° can be expected.

Conditions should be able to clear off some during the overnight hours, but thunderstorms to the west may still lead to some partly cloudy skies. Thus, partly cloudy skies can be expected with a low of 61°.

Thursday 10/2 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 87° / Thur Night – Scattered Thunderstorms – Low 67°

A low pressure system and its associated cold front will take aim on our region on Thursday. This will provide the necessary lifting mechanism to develop rain chances in the forecast for the first time in a while. A few isolated thunderstorms may form during the afternoon hours while we are placed in the warm sector of the advancing low pressure system. An afternoon high around 87° can be expected.

Thunderstorms will form along a cold front to the west of the region during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday. These will march west with time. Adequate wind shear and instability will be in place across the region to keep storms going as they enter the Bowling Green area in the overnight hours. The mostly likely time frame for thunderstorms will be in the early morning hours on Friday. A few storms may be strong with vivid lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. Overnight lows will be around 67°.

Friday 10/3 – Morning Thunderstorms – High 76° / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 44°

Friday morning will bring widespread thunderstorms to the region. Rainfall may continue into the late morning hours. As the cold front makes its passage through the region, conditions should begin to clear up some. You can expect falling temperatures after an afternoon high of 76°. Most of the day will likely be cloudy with some clouds breaking up by the evening hours.

Friday night will bring decreasing clouds to the region. The cold front will have moved through the region, taking all the moisture with it. We’ll be left with partly cloudy skies overnight with a chilly low of 44°.
