Not a fan of this heat? Well, me neither. A ridge of high pressure will continue to build across the region keeping these uncomfortable conditions around through the weekend. Several upper level disturbances will slide across the Commonwealth with a focus across central and northern Kentucky. With that said, we’ll keep a slight chance for an isolated shower or storm tonight. Otherwise, look for another calm one with warm lows in the mid 70’s.

Sat – Mostly Sunny; Sct’d Storms – High 96º / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy; Iso’d Storms – Low 75º

The upper level ridging will continue its movement across the region. However, several weaker shortwave disturbances are expected to slide around this feature as it builds towards the Commonwealth. Another disturbance will work into the Bluegrass Region (central Kentucky) with a northwest-southeastward track.

With dewpoint temperatures in the lower 70’s and precipitable water values around 2.0” for much of the day, we can’t rule out some isolated-scattered storm development by late afternoon, early evening. While chances remain slight at best, it’s still a possibility. Outside of any storm activity, the heat and humidity will remain in-tact. Look for conditions to calm into Saturday night with warm lows in the mid 70’s under partly cloudy skies.

Sun – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d Storms – High 95º / Sun Night – Partly Cloudy, Warm – Low 74º

The latter part of our weekend will offer little change. Afternoon highs will remain hot as temperatures climb into the middle 90’s. Heat index values will climb over the century mark as uncomfortable conditions win out again.

An isolated shower or storm will remain in the forecast through the afternoon hours as activity will remain widely scattered. Otherwise, look for partly cloudy skies Sunday night with warm lows in the mid 70’s.
