Thursday’s Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Regional Radar:

This Afternoon – Mostly Sunny, Nice – High 85º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy, Cool – Low 59º

3pm 85º – 6pm 81º – 9pm 74º – 12am 67º – 3am 62º – 6am 59º

It’s been another gorgeous day across the area as mostly sunny skies have prevailed once again with thermometer readings in the low-mid 80’s. Surface high pressure will continue to grip the regions weather for today as the pleasant weather persists.

Some cloud cover will filter in across the region throughout our evening as partly cloudy skies will win out through tonight. Otherwise, look for calm and cool conditions with lows in the upper 50’s.

Keep those sunglasses out.

Looking good…

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Warmer – High 86º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Comfy – Low 63º

The aforementioned surface high pressure will slowly work across the Ohio Valley Region through our Friday. Look for mostly sunny skies once again as temperatures climb a degree or two warmer than Thursday.

The evening and overnight hours will feature a slight increase in cloud cover as partly cloudy skies take over. Conditions remain calm for our Friday night as lows drop into the lower 60’s. Overall, we end the work week on a nice note before a more unsettled weather pattern shapes up by the weekend.

Sat – Mostly Sunny; Warmer – High 89º / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d Storms – Low 69º

The weather feature responsible for our nice weather will begin to weaken and work eastward towards the Mid-Atlantic region. In return, winds will shift from our south-southwest while increasing our moisture and temperatures.

A low pressure system will gather some steam through the day Saturday before edging closer to western Kentucky late Saturday night. Look for an increase in cloud cover Saturday afternoon and evening as this system approaches the state.

The associated warm front will begin lifting northeastward across southern Kentucky late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. This will provide the spark for some isolated storm development.

The latest model guidance suggests better chances for activity coming into our Sunday and Sunday night. During this period, scattered to numerous storms are expected to develop across the area as rainfall chances increase. However, I think our Saturday will remain mostly dry with a slight chance for a shower or storm late Saturday night. Otherwise, the first part of our weekend remains warm and dry.
