Showers and Thunderstorms End Tomorrow

Real Time Radar:

This Afternoon – Scat’d Showers & Thunderstorms – High 84° / Tonight – Isolated Showers Early – Low 66°

3pm 82º – 6pm 80º – 9pm 74º – 12am 71º – 3am 69º – 6am 66º

Good morning, it has already been quite the day in weather for Warren and Butler counties. Earlier this morning, a large area of rain and thunderstorms dumped over an inch or rainfall across our area and set a new daily rainfall record for Bowling Green. This area of precipitation has now moved off to the east but we will see continued rain chances this evening.

The area of low pressure to our north has left a cold front extended across western Kentucky. This will provide a focal point for additional showers and storms to fire along this afternoon and evening.

Outside of scattered shower and storm chances, we will see mostly cloudy skies this afternoon with highs in the middle to upper 80s. By tonight, precipitation chances will continue this evening before dying off around midnight. Clouds will clear out somewhat allowing for temperatures to drop into the middle 60s.

Tuesday 8/12 – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d PM T’storms – High 82° / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 58°

We will see winds turn to the west tomorrow as the cold front attempts to push east of southern Kentucky. There could be a few pop-up thunderstorms along the front tomorrow afternoon, but these will die off as we lose daytime heating and head into the evening. Otherwise expect partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures, with highs only in the lower 80s.

By Tuesday night, the cold front will have pushed well off to the east of us, and things will finally quiet down. Expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 50s.

Wednesday 8/13 – Mostly Sunny – High 82° / Wed Night – Clear – Low 57°

Wednesday looks to be the most beautiful day of the week. With the cold front off to our east and and upper level trough over the eastern half of the country, expect a cooler and less humid day. High temperatures in the lower 80s with dew points in the 50s will make for a very comfortable day. Not bad for August..

Surface high pressure to our west will help to keep skies mostly clear, and lows on Wednesday night will dip into the upper 50s under clear skies.
