Looks like our weather is in a state of change over the next few days and begins with today. Overall, it will be relatively calm, just another warm, sunny day outside with highs into the low 90s across the region. Southerly flow is kicking in today to help bring up our moisture content in advance of our upcoming storm system. An isolated shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out this evening.

Tonight will be mostly calm with partly cloudy skies overhead, lows expected to fall to near 70 degrees across the area.
Sunday 7/13 – Mostly Sunny – High 93º / Sunday Night – Iso’d Showers & T’storms – Low 73º
Sunday will be a warm one, and with increased humidity values to boot. Southerly winds will be cranking moisture into the air and will support heat indices into the upper 90s for some of us. Breezy conditions and mostly sunny skies will be the general theme for the day but won’t help the uncomfortable air outside.
Sunday night will likely be our first taste of decent precipitation chances as dynamics from the approaching storm system begin to enter the Ohio Valley. Expect an isolated shower or thunderstorm and lows in the low 70s.
Monday 7/14 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 88º / Monday Night – Scattered Thunderstorms– Low 69º
Monday brings our most active weather in the near term as the storm system approaching from the northwest enters our region and brings necessary dynamics to support organized thunderstorm development throughout the day. Expect highs in the upper 80s for the most part and any areas seeing more sunshine possibly near 90. Thunderstorms are likely and will be most prominent during the afternoon and evening hours with peak instability.

(Note after the first line on Monday, a second tries to form northwest in Missouri and could effect us overnight, but again this is just one model and a simulation, we’ll see what actually happens.)
