Good Saturday morning everybody. Nothing but good news here. This is shaping out to be an awesome weekend weather-wise and a ridge of high pressure is the main reason why. We had a trough pass through yesterday with rain and clouds but were quickly removed as a front passed over the area. High pressure is now settling in over the Great Lakes and sinking air will help keep skies clear and sunny all day today.

Expect highs into the low 80 range and dewpoints in the low 50’s, making for an absolutely great June day. Outdoors activities of all sorts are highly recommended.

Sunday 6/15 – Mostly Sunny – High 86º / Sunday Night – Clear & Calm– Low 69º

If you’ve not had the opportunity to get outside for whatever reason on Saturday, Sunday will be another chance, and for some folks, an even better day as it will be quite warm and perfect for a day by the pool. High pressure pushing further east will allow for return flow from the south and will usher in warmer, moister air. More of an average summer day; upper 80’s and mostly sunny skies across the region.

Note the image below that depicts high pressure east and a storm system well to our northwest. A warm from will approach the area, further enhancing warmer temperatures:

Monday 6/16 – Mostly Sunny – High 87º / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy– Low 69º

Monday will bare close resemblance to Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs into the upper 80’s across the Ohio Valley. The biggest difference will be the continuance of the southerly wind component which will have, by this point, filled the air with plenty of moisture; dewpoints will be around 70 degrees by now. The warm front associated with the system northwest will have pushed over and to the north.  This will support heat indices in the 90 degree range, and low 90’s in areas with the most sun.

Don’t rule out a stray shower on Monday but overall another great day and good weather to support the start to our next work week. But for now, let’s enjoy the weekend and enjoy the sun. There’s plenty to do out in Bowling Green, get outside!
