Calmer Weather in Store

Real Time Regional Radar:

———————————————————-

Today 6/5 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 80° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 63°

After a stormy night last night, a nice day is in store for the region. A cold front moved through the region last night and early this morning. This will introduce drier air into the region, which will disrupt our common forecast for thunderstorms. Due to the drier, cooler air we’ll see less thunderstorms. Gotta love the way it works out!

Expect the storms to die off by the evening hours. Cloud cover should decrease to give us some partly cloudy skies. You can expect lows in the low to mid 60s after highs in the low 80s.

Friday 6/6 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 81° / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 62°

On Friday, we’ll see a stationary front located just to the south of the region. This will be the focus for some thunderstorm development, however storm coverage should remain fairly limited in our region. Realistically, we’ll keep isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for sentimental reasons, it just doesn’t feel right without it.

As usual, we’ll see thunderstorms die out in the evening hours as we lose the heating from the sun. Expect partly cloudy skies overnight, with lows in the low 60s.

Saturday 6/7 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 83° / Sat Night – Scattered Thunderstorms – Low 70°

On Saturday, we’ll see a surface low pressure system track to the north just west of the Mississippi River. This means a warm front will lift through the region, providing us with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Well be placed under a southern flow, thus we’ll see temperatures increase across the region.

We will likely see an increase in thunderstorm coverage in the overnight hours due to a strengthening low level jet, and more moist air advecting into the region. We’ll have to monitor for more severe weather on Saturday and Sunday, but we’ll save that for another post.

That should wrap up this post. Thanks for giving us a read. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX for the latest Bowling Green weather updates.
