Same Old, Same Old

Real Time Regional Radars:

——————————————————

Today 5/28 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 87° / Tonight – Isolated Showers – Low 65°

6am 67˚ – 9am 78˚ – 12pm 85˚ – 3pm 87˚ – 6pm 81˚ – 9pm 75˚

Today, we’ll be stuck in the same pattern we’ve come to know over the past week. We’ll continue to see our daily chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. The culprit for the continuing afternoon thunderstorms is the upper level low pressure system that continues to meander across the southern United States.

As the day progresses into night, our thunderstorms will generally decrease in coverage. As the thunderstorms decrease in coverage, you can expect partly cloudy skies to overtake the region. Overnight lows will be in the mid 60s.

Thursday 5/29 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 86° / Thur Night – Isolated Showers – Low 67°

On Thursday, we’ll just let you guess what the weather will do. I’ll give you a hint: the upper level low will continue to meander around. Any guesses? Yep, we’ll continue to see a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Same old, same old forecast. It just sounds like a broken record, right?

It’s good to remind you that the chance of thunderstorms won’t be widespread. Due to this, not everyone in the region will receive rainfall. Some places may receive an inch, another half an inch, another place may see nada. It all depends on where the thunderstorms form. Expect a general decrease in thunderstorm activity overnight, with lows in the mid 60s.

Friday 5/30 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 85° / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 66°

On Friday, we’ll actually see a chance of somewhat entertaining weather across the region. During Wednesday and Thursday, a surface cold front will be positioned to the north of the region, slowly moving south. On Thursday, it looks as if this front will finally move through the region, before stalling out just south.

The front may act as a forcing mechanism, enhancing lift across the region. For this region, storms on Friday may pack a bit more of a punch than the last few days. We’re not expecting any severe weather. However some storms may contain heavy rain, small hail, and numerous lightning strikes. Remember when thunder roars, goes indoors.
