Unseasonably Cool Conditions

Real-Time Regional Radars:

——————————————————————————–

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny; Chilly – High 59º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers – Low 44º

3pm 58º – 6pm 57º – 9pm 53º – 12am 49º – 3am 46º – 6am 44º

The cold front that brought southern Kentucky plenty of showers and storms yesterday has finally exited the Commonwealth as much cooler air begins to settle in.

After a mostly cloudy day, breaks in the cloud will allow partly sunny skies to take over later this afternoon/early evening. However, brisk northwesterly winds around 10-15 mph will make conditions feel even cooler than what they will be. In fact, temperatures will feel more like the middle of March than the middle of May.

Another weak upper level disturbance will slide through south-central Kentucky later tonight/early Friday morning. Chances for scattered showers will persist through the overnight hours and into your morning commute. While rainfall totals look meager, a few scattered showers will certainly be possible early on. Track any activity with the regional radar above.

I know, I’m Skeptical about this Spring weather too…

Fri – Partly Sunny; Stray Shower/Storm – High 63º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Chilly – Low 43º

As we look to wrap up the work week, Friday will offer a similar feel as Thursday. Highs in Bowling Green will struggle once again but manage to reach the lower 60’s by the afternoon hours. Partly sunny skies will take over the area throughout much of the day with breezy westerly winds around 10-15 mph.  If enough instability is warranted through sunshine, we may see a stray shower or storm during the afternoon.

By Friday evening, a surface high pressure situated over the northern Central Plains will work southeastward across the Ohio Valley Region. Conditions Friday night and into Saturday morning will remain calm and cool as temperatures drop into the mid 40’s.

Sat – Partly Sunny; Sct’d PM Showers – High 65º / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy; Cool – Low 45º

To keep the broken record going, yet another weaker disturbance will slide to our south across the heart of the Volunteer state. Chances for showers will be more favorable for the folks across middle Tennessee as most activity should remain to our south.

Depending on the exact track of the disturbance, Bowling Green could see a few showers by Saturday afternoon. While a washout is not expected, just be aware that some shower activity will exist and could linger far enough north to wet the ground.

By Saturday evening, any shower activity will move well to the east as partly cloudy skies remain across the forecast area. Lows will be unseasonably cool once again as thermometer readings drop into the mid 40’s. Dust off that light jacket if you decide to head out Saturday night.

Cold weather breaks my heart too…

Temperatures will finally begin to moderate by late weekend and into early next week. Highs will rebound back to more seasonable conditions with readings in the middle to upper 70’s under mostly sunny skies.
