Today 5/13 – Partly Sunny; Sct’d PM Storms – High 85˚ / Tonight – Cloudy; Sct’d Storms – Low 61º

7am 71º – 10am 78º – 1pm 82º – 4pm 85º – 7pm 79º

Today will mimic Monday’s weather in many ways. Summer-like conditions prevail once again with warm thermometer readings and a touch of humidity.

These typical summer-like conditions will help fuel isolated showers and storms this afternoon as some additional lift will be slightly better today due to an approaching cold front. Track any activity with the regional radars provided above.

While severe weather is not expected with any development this afternoon, these quick pop-up storms could provide brief downpours and gusty winds.

A nice southwesterly breeze around 10-15 mph will keep conditions a tad more comfortable under partly sunny skies. Chances for scattered showers and storms remain in the forecast tonight as temperatures hang on the mild side once again.

Did you say…more rain chances?!

Wed – Mostly Cloudy; Showers & Storms Likely – High 72º / Wed Night – Showers Likely – Low 50º

A slow moving cold front will continue to gather some steam while working across the Central Plains Tuesday night. The latest SPC forecast outlines a slight risk for severe storms across the heart of the Commonwealth and includes Bowling Green.

Southwesterly winds will kick up once again Wednesday morning around 10-15 mph while ushering in a nice plume of moisture across the state.

With the progression of this cold front Wednesday afternoon, coupled with a moist environment, expect widespread showers and storms to develop along and ahead of this front. A few strong-severe storms will certainly be possible Wednesday afternoon. Main threats will generally consist of heavy rain, gusty winds, lighting and small hail.

Thu – Mostly Cloudy; AM Showers – High 61º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy; Chilly – Low 46º

The aforementioned system will slowly work through the area as much drier and cooler air filters in behind the exiting cold front. Lingering showers will persist through Thursday morning before coming to an end. Much cooler air will settle in and spoil the summer-like conditions we’ve grown so fond of.

    I agree…

The cooler temperatures will hang tough through late week as a couple weak disturbances keep rain chances in the forecast by Friday and into the first part of the weekend.

Precipitation forecast hints toward a moderate amount of rainfall through Friday with totals ranging from 1-2”. Of course these totals will be subject change as higher amounts will be possible with any thunderstorms. Anyway you look at it, a soggy and cool week lies ahead of us!

That’s all I have for now, folks. For the latest in real time weather info, be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on twitter. Enjoy your Tuesday and keep those umbrellas handy!
