This Afternoon – Partly Sunny; Scat’d Showers & Storms – High 79˚ / Tonight – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 53˚

2pm 77˚ – 5pm 76˚ – 8pm 69˚ – 11pm 61˚ – 2am 54˚ – 5am 53˚

A cold front continues to slowly progress east across the area this afternoon.  This boundary will be the focus for thunderstorm development later this afternoon & evening.  Here’s a visual of how conditions are shaping up as of 1pm:

Surface Conditions Valid 1pm

Warm, moist air will continue to advect north into our area, priming our atmosphere to support potential strong & severe storms.  The activity will NOT be as widespread as yesterday, however, we could still see a few potent cells organize.  The latest outlook from the SPC keeps our area in an enhanced risk (yellow area) for inclement weather this afternoon and evening:

SPC Convective Outlook This Afternoon

Main threats with any storm that fires will be damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning & torrential rainfall.  An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out, especially east of I-65 later this evening.  Time frame for thunderstorms will be from ~3pm – 9pm.

Have a plan of action in case a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued.  I also recommend having MULTIPLE sources to keep you updated in case bad weather rears its ugly head.  As the night wears on, activity should diminish out to partly cloudy skies.

Wed – Partly Sunny – High 68˚ / Wed Night – Cloudy – Low 47˚

A mix of sun & clouds will be left in the wake of the cold front, with westerly winds expected to suppress afternoon highs to the mid – upper 60s.  Even though I don’t think it will happen, a few isolated showers can’t be ruled out during the afternoon.  Cloud cover will become more widespread Wednesday night.

Much of the same can be expected for Thursday.  Cooling trend will continue, with temps limited to the low – mid 60s.  Other than that, a verbatim forecast as Wednesday.

That’s all for now.  From this point forward, turn your attention to @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest weather information.  Don’t have twitter?  Follow along with the twitter feed provided on the sidebar.  Have a safe afternoon.  Thanks for reading!
