Spring has sprung…

Today 3/20 – Sunny & NICE – High 61˚ / Tonight – Clear – Low 34˚

6am 36˚ ~ 9am 44˚ ~ 12pm 53˚ ~ 3pm 60˚ ~ 6pm 55˚ ~ 9pm 46˚

Happy first day of SPRING!!!  High pressure to our southwest will have complete control of our proximity today.  Long story short…it’s gonna be a nice’n!  See for yourself:

Fri – Sunny & NICER – High 72˚ / Fri Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 47˚

A cold front will approach from our west, as an associated warm front orients itself to our north.  This feature will help southerly winds amp up to 10-20mph, which will send temperatures sky-rocketing into the lower 70s.  A stellar end to the week, if I do say so myself.

On Friday night, the cold front will begin a slow propagation west to east across south central Kentucky.  Moisture returns from the latest data are looking unimpressive compared to previous runs, so rainfall is not looking as likely.

Isolated to scattered showers will be possible, with the majority of us remaining dry.  The NAM simulated radar model below likes the idea of a few areas of rain tracking southeast across the area midnight Saturday:

Sat – Iso’d Showers, Cloudy – High 59˚ / Sat Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 35˚

The frontal boundary will take its sweet time progressing to our east, which will keep cloudy skies and sparse pockets of rain in the forecast.  The good news is that it looks like temperatures will top out around 60 degrees, before falling hard on Saturday night.

High pressure will build in behind the front, giving us sunny skies for our Sunday.  Although the sun will be present, much cooler air looks to limit highs to the mid – upper 40s to end the weekend.

That will wrap up the morning forecast.  Zack Leasor will be here this afternoon to bring you up to speed on the latest conditions.  Until that time, stay connected with @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest in real-time weather information.  Have a great Thursday, and enjoy that sunshine!  Thanks for reading.
