STOP…Hoodie Time!

This Afternoon – Scat’d Showers – High 74 / Tonight – Scat’d Showers – Low 60

4pm 73 ~ 7pm 67 ~ 10pm 64 ~ 1am 62

Cold front continues to approach south central Kentucky from the west, pumping a moist airmass out ahead of it.  Rain chances will increase throughout the afternoon and tonight, when the most widespread precipitation is expected.  If you plan on attending the WKU game, have the rain gear handy.  It shouldn’t be a washout, but light to moderate showers will be scattered about the region.  The model provided displays current frontal positions, visible satellite and radar reflectivity:

7am 60 ~ 10am 63 ~ 1pm 65 ~ 4pm 64

Scattered showers during the morning hours will diminish across our proximity as the day progresses.  With any luck, we may see a few rays of sun through the afternoon.  Total rainfall amounts for the event could top out around .10 – .25″.  This will all depend on how this setup evolves for the remainder of today and tonight.  Parameters in place will warrant the possibility of localized areas potentially seeing more.

Much cooler temperatures will be the main story for our Hump Day, as a colder airmass works in behind the cold front.  Westerly winds will help inhibit afternoon highs to the low – mid 60s,  and send overnight lows plummeting into the mid 40s!

Thu – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – High 62 / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 43

7am 45 ~ 10am 56 ~ 1pm 60 ~ 4pm 60

A weak disturbance will reintroduce isolated showers to the forecast, with the majority of us remaining dry, under partly cloudy skies. Highs will struggle to reach 60 degrees. Lay out those hoodies, friends, you’re going to need them.

That will be all for now, folks. I’ll return tomorrow morning with another update on our forecast.
