Today – Partly Sunny, Isolated Showers – 6am 54 | 12pm 75 | 4pm 78 / Tonight – Scattered Showers – Low 60

An approaching shortwave disturbance will introduce isolated showers to the forecast this afternoon.  Outside of that, expect partly sunny conditions.  Gulf moisture will stream over us tonight, expanding rain coverage to the scattered nature.  The shortwave disturbance that will be responsible for this can be viewed on the 500mb vorticity model below, which is valid for 10pm tonight:

Wed – Scattered Showers & Storms – High 75 / Wed Night – Gradual Clearing – Low 57

Disturbance will exit the region as we get late into the day.  Until that time comes, scattered showers and storms will be in the forecast.  Severe weather is not expected.  Those of us who are lucky enough to miss out on the rain should enjoy partly sunny conditions.  Expect clearing Wednesday night, as an upper ridge begins to take hold of the region.

Thurs & Fri – Sunny – High 80 / Thurs & Fri Night – Clear – Low 58

Upper ridge will have a firm grasp over south central Kentucky, which will make for very quiet conditions.  Partly to mostly sunny skies will be topped off with high temperatures right around 80 degrees.  Latest models are in disagreement with the passing of a cold front this weekend, which will have the potential to fire off our next opportunity at showers and storms when it does so.  The big question at this point is timing, so I’ll await a few more runs of data before providing the details.

That will be all for now, gang.  I’ll be back this afternoon with another look at our rain chances.  Have a great day, and thanks for reading ~ Beech Tree Weather!
