The remainder of the week…

Today will be hot, surprise! Go figure right? The day ahead will start in the middle 70s, but will quickly climb into the low-to-mid 90s this afternoon. As with what is typical this time of year, showers and storms will be possible with daytime heating across south-central Kentucky,

Friday will feature more of the same, with afternoon highs at or around 90 degrees. Showers and storms are once again possible, but may be more numerous in nature Friday afternoon.

Into the weekend…

SATURDAY: Heat and humidity on Saturday will persist, as is oh-so typical this time of year for W.A.B.B.L.E.S. Highs will be in the low 90s with the chance for an afternoon pop-up or two as well.

SUNDAY: The second half of the weekend will feature more of the same, high heat and humidity with highs in the lower 90s and dew point values in the low-to-mid 70s. Afternoon convection appears to be in greater abundance on Sunday when compared to Saturday.

Invest 98L

Things are somewhat active across the tropics, and newly developed Invest 98L bears watching due to it’s close proximity to the Carolina coast. As of 1AM (EDT), there is an 80% of development into a tropical depression or named storm. Most guidance suggests gradual strengthening to tropical storm status, however the primary threats along the eastern seaboard will be heavy rain/flooding and rough surf conditions at the coast.
