Today

The heat is not going anywhere any time soon! It is going to be another hot and humid day across the area as temperatures top out around 90 degrees. We will be watching a cold front moving in from the west today, but it will bring little to no relief.

This cold front will not knock our temperatures down, but may spark a few showers and storms later today.

Only a 40% chance of you seeing rain later today as better chances will be to the north of WABBLES. Temperatures don’t cool off behind the front as overnight lows only get down to around 70 degrees tonight.

Saturday

Temperatures will stay stagnant as we head into the weekend. Small shortwave troughs will keep passing through from the north keeping our temperatures from getting well into the 90s.

Theses waves of energy will spark showers and thunderstorms to our north and west. While right now our rain chances look small we will have to monitor these complexes closely as they move south and east Saturday night.

The future radar above shows these storms missing us. Small storm chances will be with us through Saturday and into Saturday night. These heavy storm complexes will likely stay out of our area for the most part.

Sunday and Beyond

Sunday we see another day of temperatures touching 90 degrees with humid conditions. Although, another shortwave trough is going to move through the area. While this piece of energy from the north moves through we may see more storms develop Sunday afternoon.

Potential Extreme Heat Next Week

The big story that is about to hit our area within the next week is going to be extreme heat. A very large dome of high pressure will situate its self over the Ohio Valley during the middle of next week. Temperatures may be 95-100 degrees at times with heat indexes even higher.

While the severity of the heat is still a bit far out from being determined. It is looking likely we will see the hottest temperatures of the year so far this coming week.
