Good morning, everyone! Glad you could stop by on this chilly Thursday morning. Winter tried to show itself yesterday evening with some scattered snow flurries, but sunshine will take its place today. However, flurries are possible again tonight before the sunshine returns this weekend.
Sunny Skies Today
Most of the WABBLES area this morning is starting off around the 30° mark. Our weather-maker this week has finally pushed out of the region, leaving us with decreasing clouds and sunshine today.
Even with the sun out, temperatures won’t climb very high. Highs are expected to reach the low 40’s today, which is below average for this time of year. We typically see temperatures in the mid 50’s for late February.
As we move into the overnight hours, however, we could see another shot at some snow flurries. No accumulations or major impacts are expected, though. Lows tonight will drop back down to around 30°.
Clouds Briefly Return
Any snow flurries on Thursday night could linger into the early morning hours on Friday. However, as temperatures warm up into the upper 40’s for the high, snow flurries will transition into rain showers.
We’ll have one more opportunity for flurries Friday night as temperatures cool below freezing, but again, nothing significant is expected.
Sunny conditions return on Saturday as Friday’s low pressure pushes off towards the east. Temperatures also become more mild and near average around 50°. A very pleasant day to close out February!
Major Warm-up Next Week
Sunshine sticks around to close out the weekend on Sunday as temperatures begin a big warming trend for the start of the new week. Highs next week are looking to be well above average in the low 60’s range. Rain also returns as we get more rounds of low pressures pass through the region.
