Storms Chances Bringing Cooler Weather

Hey, folks! Hope everyone is doing well this morning. I am certainly having a good day already, as I am seeing Storm Chances Bringing Cooler Weather to the region, and that is what I like!

Warm and Wet Wednesday

We are currently waking up to summer-like conditions…again. It is warm and humid already out there, and I expect it to warm up pretty quickly this morning.

As this happens, we’ll develop some instability by early this afternoon. A couple of things will drive this: one, increased moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, and two, a weak trough in the mid levels of the atmosphere.

These will combine to create storm chances over the next few days, actually. Expect scattered storms to develop by this afternoon, but severe weather isn’t expected.

Highs should get into the upper 80s before storms develop (~88ºF). The storms should help to cool off your area, but not everyone will get a storm!

Thunderstorms on Thursday

Our best chances for scattered storms come on Thursday, as the trough axes focuses the forcing the most on the region. We’ll also have slightly more upper level divergence present, allowing for showers and storms to develop.

The best chance for rainfall is expected during the afternoon, but scattered storms are possible much of the day. Clouds look to keep it much cooler than it has been as of late, with highs in the low 80s(~82ºF).

Mostly cloudy skies are expected most of the day, which is pretty nice considering it has been sunny for what feels like 2 weeks in a row.

Rain chances remain on Thursday night, as lows fall into the mid 60s.

Finally Friday!

First of all, Friday is the day before I get married. I am so hype.

Secondly, Friday’s weather doesn’t look too bad. We’re looking at partly cloudy skies, and lower rain chances than we had on Thursday!

The main forcing for all of this will be moving through the region Friday afternoon and into Friday night, and this should result in scattered thunderstorm development by Friday afternoon.

Again, not expecting anything severe. Winds in the atmosphere are quite weak, and this is leading to typical summer-time storms.

Highs on Friday should be in the mid 80s (~84ºF-86ºF) across the region, which should be nice for a cookout during the evening if the rain clears out.

The weekend is looking much better than it has been as of late. The main forcing that will be driving our storm chances will move east and northeast, leaving us warm and dry by Saturday afternoon. If you just so happen to have a wedding (I DO), then the weather looks pretty nice by Saturday evening.
