Thunder Returns to Forecast
Good morning south-central Kentucky, storm chances will increase from this morning to this afternoon before steady rain settles in for Saturday. The high today will be in the low 80’s before we cool down from the thundershowers possible today, rain likely tomorrow.
No Severe Expected
With a lack of wind shear, no severe thunderstorms are expected today. Along with lightning in some of the rain showers, we might manage to have some isolated gusty winds or pea-sized hail reports, so keep the umbrella and @wxornotbg twitter feed handy.
Temperatures will be in the low 80’s today while it is sunny but dip during showers. This afternoon it will be breezy with 15 mph winds from the southwest that will pull in moisture and increase our rain chances this evening and into Saturday.
Rain Likely Tomorrow
Look to spend Saturday indoors as a steady rain sets in. Some claps of thunder are possible, but once again there is currently no chance of severe in our region. We will see about an inch of rain this weekend.
Tomorrow’s rain will keep the temperatures in the upper 60’s tomorrow, so it will be a reprieve from the summer-like heat we have experienced this week. The rain will clear out overnight tomorrow and the lows will be in the mid 50’s.
Dry Sunday
Sunday will be mainly dry with a high in the upper 70’s. A cold front will push through our region in the early evening an give us a limited chance for some light showers and probably providing us below average temperatures for Monday, too.
